Born to Welsh/Japanese hippy artist parents in the UK, Ben Nakamura Whitehouse rejected brown rice and pottery and got a job in advertising. Training first as a photographer and cinematographer Ben started his career in advertising as an assistant and ghost writer to some of the biggest commercials director’s in the world, including Jonathan Glazer and Ivan Zacharias. These days Ben lives in London where his dynamic mix of strong casting, character driven storytelling, visual humour, high production values and ability to create distinctive worlds for campaign ideas to play out in, has made him a highly sought after director for major brands all over the world, including Subway, Twix, Twitter, Amazon, Pinterest, Nissan and Skoda. Ben’s experience, passion for fresh thinking and love of a good gag ensures that his work is always visually compelling, human and very, very entertaining.
